AJM Packaging Corporation is seeking to add an experienced Sr. Manager of Quality to its team. This position is responsible for management oversight of AJM’s Operations Quality activities across our 7 factories nationally to ensure appropriate quality levels across all of AJM’s products.  In this position you will formulate and drive manufacturing quality excellence programs designed to assure maintenance of the company's competitive position and profitability of its manufacturing operations. Collaborate cross-functionally with all functions and members of the senior management team to synchronize quality goals, opportunities and delivery for one of Michigan’s leading, non-automotive growth companies.

  • Maintains the ISO 9000 Quality System and related manufacturing support tools
  • Develops and executes quality assurance related strategic plans to support the organization’s objectives and goals.
  • Oversees the scheduling and execution of 3rd party audits as well as customer specific audits.
  • Plans, coordinates, and provides high level oversight of quality assurance systems to ensure quality production across all plants consistent with established specifications and standards.
  • Keeps management teams abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance related investigations, audits, or improvement activities.
  • Establishes and oversees customer scorecard tracking metrics including development and oversight of corrective/preventative action systems across all plants.
  • Ensures uniform product specifications and quality assurance methodologies are in-use across the businesses and plants.
  • Develops and reports quality assurance KPI information to key stakeholders.
  • Applies Six Sigma, and lean manufacturing methods to evaluate and improve the current quality assurance systems and processes.
  • Provides strategic guidance and oversight to the regional and local quality assurance resources.
  • Oversees the development and implementation of quality assurance training programs to key personnel in conjunction with regional and local managers.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards, including food safety.
  • Ensures corporate wide, continuous compliance with government, customer, and third party food safety certification requirements, including on-site audits.


  • BA/BS degree is required.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in manufactured product quality systems and specifications is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a quality manager or plant quality team lead preferably in a rigid, flexible, or food contact packaging environment.
  • Minimum 4 years working with internal and external customers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, & PowerPoint.
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, dynamic, and flexible team based environment.
