AJM Packaging Corporation is a leading manufacturer of converted paper products, including paper plates, cups, bowls and bags. As we continue to grow and expand our operations, we are seeking an experienced Plant Manager with experience in a high speed and volume manufacturing environment.

This position will direct and manage the production, inventory, warehousing, maintenance, shipping, receiving, quality control, human resources and all other required functions for a plant facility.

  • Plan, coordinate and manage entire plant and its staff in such a manner as to ensure that all company objectives and production goals are continually met.
  • Review overall operation and processes and identify areas for improvement for all functions. Be able to offer recommendations for improvement and be able to successfully implement changes.
  • Ensure an effective maintenance program for machinery and the facility is in place and adhered to.
  • Directly responsible at the plant level for implementing and maintaining of the company quality system. Provide continuous promotion, enforcement and review of the quality system, standards and procedures directly and through the establishment of functional teams.
  • Establish guidelines and schedules for the inspection and for conducting tests of finished goods, as well as, production materials. Collect testing results and organize for assessment and reporting purposes. Review data and make recommendations to improve quality standards and/or minimize waste.
  • Will review current procedural steps, policies, and decision-making techniques and provide necessary instruction to staff to ensure the achievement of quality goals and standards, as well as, ensuring that the staff adheres to the procedures and requirements of the company as related to quality.
  • Identify areas of improvement and coordinate with appropriate departments to address these matters. Once identified, implement change agents to ensure that staff understand their appropriate roles and expectations regarding quality.
  • Provide the direction and oversight of any internal or external audit that involves components related to quality standards, processes and/or procedures.
  • Oversee inventory levels. Order or make procurement requests for any needed production materials, supplies, equipment, tools, replacement parts or similar items.
  • Supervise staff to include but not limited to: designating work assignments, providing instruction, reviewing completed work and providing input for performance appraisals.
  • Provide continuing oversight and training of staff in order to increase their levels of knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Ensure that staff strictly adheres to all safety rules, guidelines and procedures.
  • Complete all other duties the Supervisor deems necessary.


  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, preferably in business or engineering, and eight years or more of high-volume plant management (paper converting and printing experience a plus); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess supervisory experience and leadership skills.
  • Must possess strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Must have industrial production experience.
  • Must have quality control experience.
  • Possess broad industrial/manufacturing knowledge.
  • Being mechanically inclined is preferred.
  • Have working knowledge of most common computer programs.
  • Be able to successfully manage multiple projects and tasks.
